For years, World Central Kitchen has mobilized the generosity of the restaurant industry to help people in times of crisis.
Now, the restaurant industry is joining forces to support World Central Kitchen.
Humanitarian organizations recently mourned the deaths of seven aid workers killed in Israeli military attacks in Gaza.
Benevolent Spirits, an industry fundraising organization in Asheville, North Carolina, launched a campaign this week in which restaurants will donate $1 for every drink sold through May 12 to World Central Kitchen.
The type of drink does not matter, for example, whether it has alcohol or not. The goal is to raise at least $25,000, and restaurants across the country have signed on to participate, including Chaipani in Asheville, North Carolina, and Decatur, Georgia. To Jules in Seattle and Tikito in New York City.
