HARROWTON — While most teens are still finishing high school and deciding what they want to do with their lives, 17-year-old Chloee Cutting graduated a year early and built her own bakery in downtown Harlowton. I opened a store.
“I've always had the idea of owning my own business, but it wasn't until last year that I decided to start baking and see if it would turn out this good,” Cutting said recently. .
The teen started selling baked goods on social media and at farmers markets. Almost a year later, she officially opened her Klo's Kitchen at 124 N. Central Avenue in Harlowton on April 13th.
“I'm a foodie. I just love food and making it. It's really amazing for me to see what I can make,” Cutting said. “It all started with the chocolate chip cookies her mother made when I was a child.”
Klo's Kitchen offers a variety of sweet treats, as well as daily breakfast and lunch options. The 17-year-old also takes special orders.
“She's really passionate about her job,” said Kroy's mother, Megan Cutting. “I just do whatever she needs her help with.”
Cloie's mother works alongside her daughter and lends a helping hand, which Cloie said she “couldn't do without.”
“I'm so grateful to my family for helping me,” Chloe Cutting said. “We're open all day and sell everything, but typically we're here until about 9 or 10 o'clock baking bread, and then we're back here at 5 o'clock in the morning getting ready to sell.”
Klo's Kitchen is open from 7am to 3pm and is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
“She loves to see everyone happy. She does this because she loves making everyone smile,” Megan Cutting said.
