Kit includes low VOC, low odor, water-based acrylic paint and primer in one. It requires a one-day application process, but dries to a soft, satin-like finish. Covers 100 square feet (40 linear feet) of cabinet surface. This is common in most kitchen cabinets. Ideal for use on wood, laminate and primed, or painted metal cabinets. It is formulated to cover most existing wood finishes and can be painted in one coat.
Promising reviews: “As you can see before and after in my photos, the paint was fantastic and really transformed our outdated kitchen.
process:
– First, I thoroughly cleaned the wood cabinets using KRUD KUTTER PC32 Pre-Paint Cleaner/TSP Alternative. I've read a lot of reviews about this cleaner and I've heard that it's great for removing oil and dirt, and it really worked wonders.
– Sanded the cabinet.
– Next, we primed the cabinets with a special wood primer.
– Once the primer was dry, I used Nuvo paint on the cabinets. I applied 4 layers of very thin paint. It's important to keep each layer very thin because it will look weird as it dries. I've found that if even a little bit of paint builds up in the corners of the cabinets, it can cause cracks, so be sure to apply a thin coat.
– Additionally, I ended up purchasing a regular brush other than this kit. A few blogs mentioned using foam brushes. However, I didn't like the way the paint stuck to the cabinets I used them on. ”—Daniel Joy
