We spoke to two interior designers to find out the kitchen hardware trends they're seeing in their work. Kitchen hardware in 2024 is eschewing clean styles in favor of more interesting material combinations that create dimension. Not to mention, they're also just plain fun.
discreet brass knob
There are also timeless trends, with the humble brass knob emerging as a modern classic. “Simple brass knobs look great against dark-colored cabinets,” says Michelle Gage, founder and creative director of Michelle Gage Interior Design. Matte black kitchen fixtures have been on trend for a while, and now the popular finish is making its way into kitchen hardware as well. “Traditionally, this look has leant towards the 'farmhouse,' but there are new ways to bring matte black into the kitchen,” says Gage. “Consider refreshing your hardware with this dark metal finish.” Matte black creates a bold contrast against light-colored or stained wood cabinets, and complements marble or quartz countertops. You can also tie it with black stripes on your backsplash.

Nature has always been a source of inspiration for interior design and is starting to find its way into kitchen hardware as well. If possible, consider matching the knobs in your kitchen.”

Most commonly used on drawers, knobs in the same finish can be used on cabinets as a perfect complement. “We're used to cup pulls!” Gage says. “This classic handle is a fan favorite and lets the hardware take center stage.”
