KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – The Export Furniture Exhibition was held in the Malaysian capital earlier this month, with exhibition organizers hailing it as a “huge success”.
Organizers said attendees at the show, which ran from March 4 to 7, included Malaysian government officials, representatives from foreign embassies and many foreign tourists, who were interested in purchasing furniture in the country. The role of industry was emphasized.
The show's theme was “Bigger, Better” and reintroduced the Malaysian Furniture Creativity Awards competition. The award aims to foster innovation and inspire the future of furniture design.
Three categories received awards: dining, living room, and bedroom. The results were determined by a combination of votes from eligible buyers and ratings from a jury of professional designers and media members.
The winner in the dining category was Home-JS Furniture, with Deep Furniture and Novel Furniture taking second and third place, respectively. In the Living category, Natural Signature, in partnership with Dynamic Furniture Inds, won. The THL sofa was the runner-up. In the bedroom category, Novel Furniture won, Favorite Design took his second place and Holong Wood took his third place.
