When two busy young doctors and their three children move into the Madison Park House, they rely on interior designer Kirsten Connor's keen eye to make their new place their home. One of the key goals on their list is to create a cozy and functional bedroom.
“We still had furniture from college there,” Connor said. “She wanted a writing desk to work on, and he wanted a comfortable customized sofa where he could stretch his legs and work.”
Conner had already made her Seattle living room a place for her family to gather and relax, and she took inspiration from that space to guide her design decisions into her bedroom.
“I approached this by creating a peaceful sanctuary with a transitional style and Old World-inspired items that complemented the living room,” she said.
Connor sourced several items from the Seattle Design Center showroom, including Kravet, DFG, Trammell-Gagne, and Pindler. Connor's mission is to help people “love where they live,” and she helped this family accomplish that twice.
She has been in the home beautification business for nearly 20 years and is a graduate of Bellevue College of Design and Syracuse University. Her work has been featured in numerous publications including Domino, Real Simple, Wall Street Journal, Homes & Gardens, and more.
