This year's Broadway spring season will be the busiest and loudest in recent memory, with 11 new musicals and musical revivals opening in the final two months of the 2023-2024 Tony Awards season. It's becoming one of those seasons. With so many shows beginning previews, officially opening, and even closing, the competition heats up ahead of the Tony Awards nominations announcement on April 30th. This means that users often change their minds about which shows will be most successful. “Hell’s Kitchen” – This semi-autobiographical musical alicia key It got off to a sluggish start in our prediction center and was expected to be nominated for two categories: Best Book of a Musical and Best Choreography. Last week, we predicted four bids for this show, including Best Musical and Best Actress (kelly ohara),actor(Brian d'Arcy James) and original score. This work is now considered to be number 5 on the list of best musical books.Of course, since the last composer Adam Guettel and the author of the book craig lucas collaborated on “The Light in the Piazza” and both were nominated.
“The Who’s Tommy” — Nominations are accelerating for this revival as its official March 28 release date approaches. While we previously predicted the film would earn his two bids for Best Musical Revival and Best Choreography, users have now predicted that the film would earn his three important bids for Best Actor. But after coming to terms with unfavorable reviews, users soured its outlook, reducing sales from 7 to 3. It appears that bids for Best Actress, Original Score and Musical Book for “Plunkett'' will be maintained.
“Lempicka” — Shortly after the musical’s first preview performance on March 19, users slightly adjusted their expectations for the nomination tally, dropping it by one. We previously thought this production would earn her seven bids for Best Musical Actress (Eden Espinosa), featured actress (Beth Leavell), featured actors (Andrew Samonsky), director (Rachel Chavkin), original score and sheet music. Users now believe the film will earn her a 6, with all but Tony Award winner Leavell removed from the expected featured actress lineup.

I'm not confident that I can get it. There were no nominations, but if it receives positive reviews on April 11th, it's still early enough to catch up with the nominees in this and other categories.

“Here Lies Love” — This closed-door musical is expected to get a steady five nominations, but users are reconsidering which five it should win. We previously predicted that this work would win Best Actress in a Musical (ariel jacobs), featured actors (Conrad Ricamora), director (alex timbers) and original score. We still think it will score a 5, but the predictor removed actress Jacobs and added choreography.
There are plenty more musicals and musical revivals in the stable during this busy spring part of the Broadway season. They are “Cabaret,” which was expected to receive six nominations, “Merrily We Roll Along,” which was expected to receive five nominations, and “Gutenberg!” Contains one each of “The Musical!,” “Harmony,” “Monty Python's Spamalot,” “The Wiz,” and “Water for Elephants.”
