Edison International, the parent company of Southern California Edison, recently partnered with the Orange County Fire Department during an open house at its headquarters to showcase cooking innovations related to fire safety, including displaying induction cooktops and other clean energy equipment. Is going. from SCE Food Service Technology Center.
The sleek and powerful induction cooktop stays cool to the touch, eliminates the risk of burns, and automatically turns off when pots and pans are removed. It's a win-win for safety and improved indoor air quality.other Advantages of induction cooker The absence of open flames greatly reduces accidental injuries and kitchen fires. You don't have to worry about your children or pets getting burned if they touch the stove.
“Our mission to protect life and property begins with supporting our partners who are equally committed to reducing the risk of fire and burns,” said Fire Chief Brian Fennessy of the Orange County Fire Department. “Southern California Edison is one of those partners, and their support allows us to better serve and protect our communities.”
Induction cooking is met with skepticism, especially among chefs specializing in cultural cuisine. But those doubts quickly disappear.
“IH has come a long way and has become much more versatile, which is important in Asian households where traditionally cooking is done at very high temperatures,” said Irvine City Council Member Tammy Kim. “When making Korean barbecue or using a wok, it is important to withstand the high temperatures of wok cooking, and this demonstration proved that induction cooktops can be used safely and successfully.”
The partnership with fire officials extends to programs beyond the kitchen. Edison International has a long-standing philanthropic partnership with OCFA, providing grants for two of his programs:
- of Firefighter Candidate Program Provides young people (ages 14-21) with valuable insight into firefighting. Individuals gain confidence in themselves, learn how to use a variety of tools, develop mechanical skills and aptitude, and become more aware of personal safety and fire safety.
- of Girls empowerment camp We introduce teens (ages 14-18) to the fire service and teach them life skills and professional guidance that will enable them to pursue a career in public safety.
“Through our collaborative efforts with organizations like the Orange County Fire Department, we strengthen our efforts to protect our communities, save lives, and ensure the well-being of our neighbors,” said Larry, SCE Vice President of Regional Public Affairs.・Mr. Chan said. “We also strive to build a better tomorrow by supporting local youth programs such as OCFA’s Fire Officer Cadet Program and Girls Empowerment Camp.”
SCE's partnership with first responders is designed to advance and strengthen public safety efforts in the communities we serve. Providing solutions to potential electrical hazards is part of the company's commitment to protect its customers and move toward a clean energy future.
