The Food Network has come under fire from fans upset about The Kitchen star Alex Guarnaschelli's handling of the news amid rumors of his firing.
The confusion began in February when Alex's photo disappeared from The Kitchen's website.
The hostess did not appear on Food Network shows for several weeks afterward.
Around the same time, the TV personality hinted that he was leaving the show during an Instagram Q&A session.
“Sorry, you are no longer on The Kitchen. You brought so much knowledge to the show,” one fan wrote at the time.
“It means a lot to me. More than you will ever know, thank you,” Alex, 54, responded in a cryptic message.
Although it was not officially confirmed, fans had speculated that Alex had been fired from the show.
And now, in an online thread, fans are slamming the network for what appears to be Alex's “not being on that show.”
“The lack of any kind of press release from the network or the show's producers makes it seem like the actions of an amateur rather than a professional,” said one critic.
“Just a simple announcement that Alex is no longer a host. We all miss her,” another added.
Another critic said, “It would have been easier to do a short reveal without the uncertainty of one of the top five co-hosts dying.”
“as if [Food Network] The hope is that if they ignore it long enough, fans will stop talking about it too. It's a strange practice and very unprofessional, but look what they did to Valerie Bertinelli. ”
“The kitchen is even worse without her,” exclaimed a commentator.
In late March, Alex announced the new season of his latest show on the same network.
On her Instagram Stories, the star posted a “Breaking News” graphic over a photo of herself appearing on the new show.
Food Network's official Instagram account also reposted the snapshot.
It means a lot to me. Thank you more than you will ever know.
