New Delhi:
It could very well be passed off as a chapter in Chuck Palahniuk's 2005 crime and gore novel. A ghost appeared. But the story of how Nicholas Metson, a British man described by prosecutors as an “evil monster”, murdered his wife Holly Bramley is all true.
Holly is a 26-year-old woman with her whole life ahead of her when she falls victim to her husband's twisted machinations. Metson, 28, from Lincolnshire, was not only the murderer of her husband, but also a manipulator with a history of domestic violence charges. She said Metson had a history of convictions related to her ex-partner, including offenses in 2013, 2016 and 2017.
The tragedy began in March last year when Holly's dismembered body parts were found floating in a river. Her body was cut into 200 pieces.
failed marriage life
According to testimony presented in court, Metson and Holly's marriage was a sham, and the couple experienced myriad problems, primarily due to Metson's psychotic nature. Behind closed doors, Holly faces her own torment and manipulation, slowly eating away at her psyche.
Holly had previously killed her partner's hamster by putting it in a blender and microwave, then ran away with her pet rabbit and called police for help. Additionally, he puts the puppy inside the washing machine and Holly finds the animal dead and spinning inside the washing machine.
Although they married in 2021, the couple's relationship was on the verge of separation before the murder, as revealed during court proceedings. On that fateful day last March, the facade completely collapsed.
Metson initially claimed that his wife had been abusive, pointing to the bite mark on his forearm, and that he left home on March 19 to attend a local mental health support group. However, a subsequent investigation revealed Metson's lies, and the apartment was searched.
monster of lincolnshire
Lincolnshire Police responded to the call and found themselves at a nightmarish scene. The stench of ammonia and bleach hung in the air, bloody sheets were dumped in the bathtub, and the kitchen floor was a silent witness to the horrors that took place inside.
“At one point Mr Metson joked that she might be hiding under the bed,” the prosecutor said, as reported by the BBC.
Prosecutors suggested Holley was likely stabbed multiple times in her bedroom, then dismembered in the bathroom and her body hidden in a kitchen cupboard. Metson's bite marks indicated a possible restraint tactic.
After the murder, Metson withdrew funds from his wife's account and searched online for spousal death benefits and paranormal information.
“What benefits will I receive if my wife dies?'' “Will anyone still follow me after my wife dies?'' He Googled two things.
50 lbs for disposal
Almost seven days later, before police arrived at his home, he gave £50 to an acquaintance to help him dispose of the severed body parts. A friend of his sent a text message saying he had received “50 pounds to dispose of the body,'' according to court testimony.
The next day, someone out for a morning walk found a plastic bag floating in the River Witham. One of them contained a human hand, and the other held Holly's shaved head. Divers have since recovered 224 of his body parts, some of which are still missing. According to court testimony, the body was so mutilated that it was impossible to determine the cause of death.
Metson has remained silent about his motive for killing his wife. His lawyer argued that his diagnosis of “autism spectrum disorder” played a role in the killing.
