A frugal couple made a four-figure profit on classic kitchen essentials.
They found it at a flea market for just $80, but the branding made it worth nearly $2,000.
Rob and Melissa, known on TikTok as Flea Market Flipper (@fleamarketflipper), have a side hustle that recycles and resells items on eBay.
In a clip on the page, the pair showed they made nearly $100,000 in 2023 on the flip.
They went into further detail about their recent lucrative discovery in a separate video.
“My $80 flea market find turned into $1,750 on eBay!” reads the on-screen caption.
In the background, viewers could spot Crowler Nation's 1930s All American Electric Beer Can Sealer, a kitchen essential.
The device had a black finish and a silver mechanism to properly seal the can.
It's quite rare, with similar items selling for thousands of dollars.
A nearly identical can sealer is listed at Everything Kitchens for $2,999.
Rob and Melissa also captured a time-lapse of the packaging process after it sold on eBay for $1,750.
Rob was seen carefully wrapping the electric beer can sealer in bubble wrap, Styrofoam and other protective components, then placing it in a large brown box for shipping to the buyer.
He also displayed the costs of the process so the couple could get a better idea of how much money they were making by thrifting.
After factoring in the initial $80 they paid for the kitchen essentials, $216 in eBay fees, and $140 in shipping, the couple made a profit of $1,314.
That's not a bad return on investment.
Another expert saver also found that kitchen essentials were worth much more than their list price in February.

Ellen (@maggiemaethrift) told viewers in the clip that while she was exploring around Goodwill, she spotted a unique Dutch oven sitting on a low shelf in an aisle.
It was in good condition, light blue in color, and priced at $12.99.
Suspecting it might be worth more than advertised, Ellen opens the lid of the Dutch oven and sees that the brand is Le Creuset.
She quickly identified the Dutch oven as none other than the Le Creuset Signature Chambray Dutch Oven (retail price approximately $419.95).
“Well, you're in luck!” cried Eren.
It's unclear whether she ultimately sold the items for a profit or kept them.
