Another episode of “Top Chef: Last Chance Kitchen,” another opportunity Tom Colicchio To explain to the eliminated contestants who the newcomers are: Su Ann, This season's secret 16th chef testant. But this was a triple-threat match, as this week's “Top Chef” episode “The Right Way” ended in a double elimination. Carina Bliss and Alisha Elenz. However, this will be a single-elimination match, with only one of the three chefs going home at the end. So what happened on “The Plate Apprentice”? Watch the episode below or read on to find out.
Alisha and Karina were eliminated as a team in an architect-inspired challenge frank lloyd wrightSo, 'LCK' introduced a little more architecture into the kitchen for this saving dish. The chef was presented with a variety of dishes and vessels to serve the meal. They choose one of her dishes and have 30 minutes to cook something inspired by that dish.
Sue picked up a box for lawn and surfing. There was meat in the lid and fish inside. Alisha picked up a shell-shaped plate and tried to fill her up with seafood and aguachile (I wanted scallops but all I could find was shrimp, so shrimp!). Karina was probably the most ambitious, she picked up a plate with three round pieces on which she cooked the meat three different ways.
Ultimately, they provided Tom with the following services:
Alisha: Aguachile, cucumber, jicama, avocado, poached shrimp, garnished with cilantro
Karina: (1) Beef tartare with mirin, ponzu sauce, fish sauce, and soy sauce; (2) Beef tataki with kimchi, pear, and fennel. (3) Charred ribeye with miso and cauliflower puree
Sue: (1) Carpaccio of lamb loin with aged balsamic vinegar, mint, basil and fennel. (2) Glazed halibut with strawberry bisque
Tom told Alisha that her aguachile was a huge improvement over the losing dish, but the aguachile was still not as spicy and the flavor proportions were a little different. However, he had nothing but praise for Karina and Sue's cooking. He didn't even bother coming up with criticism to build suspense. So it came as no surprise when he announced that the permanently eliminated chef was Alisha.
“I'm disappointed that I won't be able to get through this and get back into the Top Chef kitchen,” Alisha said in her final exit interview. “I came here and I know that I did the best I could today and I'm proud of that. This challenge is a reminder that this is the core of what I want to do. I did.”
