After returning to Alabama for her career, the musician and her husband bought a small house where they could finally put down roots.
With new digs in Dixie, Cami and Eric begin their adventure into small living, but not without making some major adjustments first.
Originally based in Spokane, Washington, Cami and Eric began to fly frequently to Alabama, where Cami's music career was based.
Cami, who is part of the musical duo Sweeplings, usually stays with her partner Whitney and his wife when they play shows in Huntsville.
But the commute became too much for her, so it was finally time for her and her husband, Eric, to buy a home of their own.
The couple made the move with the help of Home Made Nation's show Tiny House Nation.
A marathon episode of YouTube videos dedicated to artists looking for tiny homes featured a couple from the Pacific Northwest searching for a small space filled with Southern charm.
Cami's partner, Whitney, introduced the couple to her brother, Bradley, an Alabama-based real estate agent, who showed them three tiny homes within their $70,000 budget.
Mr. Bradley spoke highly of the area, saying it is known as a space city with a lot of scientific lore.
He first took the couple to a property they were looking for, a 500-square-foot lot 27 miles outside of Huntsville.
They walked around the property that would become their home, with some concerns, especially the small size of the kitchen.
But the cozy space, which cost $10,000 less than budget, wasn't an easy sell.
Housing details
Originally built as a garage in 1918, this small house has a bedroom, living room, bathroom, and kitchen, with most rooms blending into each other.
The shared living room and bedroom have a folding table in the hallway just a few feet from the bed, and the kitchen only has a small refrigerator.
But with a little creativity, the couple was able to transform a bare corner into a usable cooking space.
Cami and Eric purchased a hot plate to replace the stove and oven.
They also added a microwave and coffee machine to the bare countertop to improve the functionality of the kitchen.
“The kitchen wasn't as big of an issue as I initially thought.”

Kami says the extra money will also allow them to add more bathroom space and expand the kitchen.
The couple say there is a large garden, and the greenery adds an element of tranquility to the space, contributing to the overall homey feel of the property.
They settled down and moved into a 400-square-foot home within two months.
It's great to have a place where we can play and write music and where we can both step away and be ourselves,” Kami said.
A couple bought their dream New England cottage for just $50,000, but it came with a hidden loft.
Additionally, a tiny home owner with no construction experience spent just $15,000 to build his space using a 3D program.
