The performers in the promotion are “Hell's Kitchen” cast members who channel the colors of '90s New York through their fashion, dance and design. The music and lyrics for “Hell's Kitchen” were written by Alicia, and the story follows Ali, a 17-year-old desperate to make her dreams come true in New York City, as she explores her harsh thoughts about race, rebellion, and growing up. It depicts a story that confronts reality.
“Alicia and I wanted this to feel very kaleidoscopic, colorful, layered, and bright,” Kajal said. “Having the ability to direct this production in the apartment complex where she grew up made this story even more authentic and intentional. I worked closely with Alicia Keys, Maleah Moon, and the cast and crew. Together, we were able to create in the same playful way we did.''It was just a group of longtime friends coming together to have a good time. This is a love letter to Hell's Kitchen, written by everyone involved. ”
