PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend Chapter of the American Association of University Women will hold its 26th annual Home & Kitchen Tour on April 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will host virtual tours April 24-30. Masu.
Tickets are $35 per person, $25 for association members, and can be purchased online at www.porttownsendhomeandkitchentour.com.
Tour tickets include access to virtual tours and additional home presentations.
The tour will visit nine homes in uptown Port Townsend, all within walking distance of each other, and a visit to the Welcome Center at 1111 Franklin Street.
The Welcome Center will host seminars from local experts on topics such as design for local aging and net zero energy.
The tour includes a tour inside the Windship, a modern structure with a roof line and expansive windows that tower over Morgan Hill.
The tour will also feature the historic Starrett House, which was recently purchased by Bayside Housing to provide much-needed housing for women.
This Victorian house is known for its floating staircase and colorful frescoes.
Visitors can also learn about Bayside's future plans.
Ticket sales will provide educational scholarships to women and girls in East Jefferson County.
Last year, the Port Townsend chapter donated more than $100,000 to the local community through its philanthropic organization, the Women's College Foundation.
The grant supported Tech Trek STEM summer camps for middle school girls, scholarships for higher education, and tuition assistance for women attending graduate and professional schools.
