A new retail store has opened in Downtown Las Vegas' Arts District.
Spilled Milk, a home decor store founded by interior designer Cori Cortez, is located at 1407 S. Commerce St., near vintage clothing stores Off the Threads and Alt Rebel.
Cortez said in a news release that he decided to open the store after being laid off from his cybersecurity job in late 2023.
“I have always loved design, decoration, and breathing new life into spaces,” Cortez said in a statement. “Because it was something I did on the side and also something that gave me a new lease of life. I'm good at security. [cyber] But the shock of being stripped of his means of livelihood made him realize it was time to take control of his own destiny and pursue this full-time. That's a big risk, but as I learned, so is having an employer. ”
The shop offers everything from home essentials like accent chairs and cabinets to Jaguar plant holders, modern crystallized barware, Parisian-inspired serving trays, wall art, and sculptural pieces by London-based designer Abigail Arne. , we offer a range of modern home décor items, ranging from more tasteful items. “Las Vegas is unlike any other city in the world. We wanted to source unique items that would bring style points to modern homes in an unconventional way,” said Cortez.
The store is open seven days a week and is closed on Tuesdays.
The Arts District continues to grow, with hundreds of apartments, many with retail space under construction, including Southern Land's 337-unit project under construction near the intersection of South 3 Street and East California Avenue .
