Sam Tadros (aka “Pizza Don”) sold frozen pizza.
“Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, used to order pizza from us,” Tadros said. “One day I said, 'Thank you,' and received 10 cases of Teremana Tequila. And then I found out it was The Rock.”
Johnson is the founder of Teremana Tequila.
So Sam thought it would be appropriate to cook a dish with tequila at his new job. It's similar to a more traditional vodka sauce, but with a whole new edge.
Let's cook!
Tequila pasta with fresh homemade burrata
material
- 1 pound fusilli pasta soaked in salted water
- 2 cups marina sauce
- chopped shallot
- Add 2 minced garlic cloves and 1/4 teaspoon olive oil and mix.
- 1/2 cup tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon Calabrian chile paste
- Teremana Tequila 8 tablespoons
- 6 ounces heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Parmesan cheese
- fresh basil

- Boil 1 pound of fusilli pasta in salted water.
- Mix together the chopped shallots and 2 cloves of garlic.
- Let it sweat for 5 minutes, then add 1/2 cup of tomato paste and caramelize.
- Add 1 teaspoon of Calabrian chili paste and 8 tablespoons of Teremana tequila to evaporate the alcohol.
- Add fresh cream.
- Add marinara sauce and stir.
- Add the pasta water, butter, and Parmesan to taste, then add the fresh basil to the sauce.
- Finish with fresh burrata
