Never heard of cashmere kitchens? You may have seen this beautiful trend popping up online and on social media. Really, it's all about color.
“Cashmere shades are warm neutrals with a reddish grey/white base,” explains Richard Davonport, managing director of Davonport. “It works with a variety of styles, from modern to traditional, gloss to shaker.” Plus, it looks great on its own or with bold colors and patterns.
Neutral hues have long been favored in the kitchen, but for 2024 we'll be taking inspiration from the subdued, timeless, effortlessly chic and pared-back trends of 'mini Marx' and 'quiet luxury'. Cashmere kitchens are becoming increasingly popular.
“A neutral color palette forms the basis of this trend, with stony greys, creams and muted cashmere tones being popular choices for cabinetry,” says Richard Eaton, design director at Denby. “In fact, searches for 'cashmere kitchen cabinets' on Google have increased by 60% in the past 12 months. Pair these neutral tones with deeper, cozy hues like chocolate brown and sage green, and incorporate plenty of organic wood and stone textures. ”
Cashmere, of course, is named after the fine and delicate material. It has a luxurious feel, is extremely soft to the touch, and has good insulation properties. Therefore, if you apply this expensive and high-quality fabric to the world of kitchen design, it will bring a touch of luxury to your home. Here are his three low-cost ways to take advantage of the cashmere kitchen trend.
1) Please spray
“Most cabinets can be repainted or resprayed at home, so you can create a completely new kitchen without replacing your cabinets,” says Richard Davonport. There are many professional companies that offer this service, but you can also do it yourself to save some extra money.
2) Please switch
Don't want to splatter on the marble? we don't blame you. Quartz is strong, crack-resistant, non-porous and at a quarter of the price, making it a great alternative for worktop counters in busy kitchens. Even better, cover your current countertops with vinyl.
3) Style it
If the above options are out of the question, add accessories like a cutting board, pestle, mortar, and tea towel to bring trends to your cooking space at a more affordable price. Choose colors that focus on warm tones like cashmere to add comfort and homeliness to your space.
