Spring has arrived, and even though it's summer all year round in Thailand, the change of seasons is good. It gives new meaning to “spring cleaning” and gives you the opportunity to beautify your home with a fresh look.
Lotus Arts de Vivre
Lotus Arts de Vivre (LAdV) is known for its work by master artisans from Thailand and Asia. The latest collection under the Unleash Your Dragon umbrella is an introduction to the Year of the Dragon.
The collection includes exquisite home decor and fine jewelry made from rare and diverse natural materials. Materials such as Brazilian vines, ostrich egg shells, and various gemstones.
The “Swirling Dragon Liana Wood Sculpture” is decorated with a sterling silver Chinese dragon decorated with red stone eyes. Liana is a jungle vine with an organic twisting shape that grows in the tropical and temperate climates of the Brazilian mountains. Each piece of grape is selected for its beauty and functionality before being dried, hollowed out and processed. Liana wood is quite rare, and some of the trees used are over 100 years old. It took six craftsmen over two months to complete, from the design to carving the silver texture with wax.
“Cinnabar Cloud Bowl with Silver Dragon'' is a hand-carved and hand-painted cinnabar lacquered cloud bowl with a mythical sterling silver dragon dancing and winding around the inside and outside of the bowl. The main inspiration for this bowl comes from the natural material cinnabar or dragon's blood. This refers to the deep red color of lacquer, a natural product made from the sap of the lac tree.
“White Dragon Carved Jade Earrings” are 18K gold earrings featuring a white dragon carved from nephrite. His sparkling 18K yellow gold is set and embellished with diamonds, rubellites and tsavorites. Adding a vibrant touch, tsavorites are set into his 18k yellow gold dragon eyes, breathing life and personality into the artwork. The jade is sourced from Myanmar and hand carved in China. alexander lamont
This season, Alexander Lamont presents two new collections. The Le Murre “Studio” collection includes six of his fresh patterns in straw marquetry, as an ode to the beauty of nature and ingenuity reflected in human creativity. The Couture collection of furniture and lighting reimagines some of the brand's iconic designs in rich new colors and tone-on-his-tone finishes.
With a palette inspired by nature, the new group called Cicada expands the range of colors available, wrapped in warm neutrals, soft celadon and blue, and shimmering amber, ebony and cast metals. Introducing new textures and materials.
The Pleiadian Vase, an iconic limited edition collection of Dinanderry vessels, has also been recreated. Using lacquer and eggshell, casting and recycling techniques, each vase is made from start to finish by a single artisan. The new version of Heliojar has a pattern inspired by the Portuguese azulejo tiles. The contrast between the white eggshell mosaic and the brightness of the black lacquer creates a lively anima on the surface of the vessel. The sickle-themed Helio Jar is a smaller version with an array of crescent moons floating in a sky of soft pink eggshell inlays.
The collection is available at Alexander Lamont Gallery and online.
