It's no exaggeration to say that I can't wait for fall. I'm a summer girl, but I truly feel that fall is my season (and I know I'm not the only one). I love walking the streets with leaves crunching under my feet, binge-watching Meg Ryan movies with a glass of mulled cider in hand, and thrifting for chunky vintage-inspired knit sweaters. OK, OK, I'm getting ahead of myself, she's only in August! But the truth is, fall will be here before you know it (yay!). That means it's time to think about preparing your home for this season, too.
If you're not quite ready to dive headfirst into fall home decor, there are some more crafty ways to make your home cozy without going all-in on pumpkin spice. Here are seven easy ways to transform your interior from summer to fall (of course, one of these steps also includes stocking up on fall candles). Have a happy nest!
1. Make your bedding comfortable
Goodbye, lightweight cooling sheets, it's finally time for comfortable bedding. You probably don't need to think about getting rid of your flannel sheets just yet, but it's wise to prepare for the chilly nights in the coming weeks. I like soft cotton for my sheets, but even just a quilt or blanket on your bed adds instant comfort.
2. Swap summer flowers
If you're like me, you'll be stocking up on Trader Joe's flowers and farmers market bouquets all summer long. As the weather cools, consider switching out flowers to branches, dried flowers, or pampas grass. These options are not only seasonally appropriate, but they're even more budget-friendly considering they last for months.

3. Set up some throws
If you're always cold, you might keep a blanket nearby year-round. But if you haven't thought about curling up on the couch with a fuzzy blanket in a while, remember this and pick up a knit throw to keep you cozy all season long. Choose one that matches your living room decor and hang it discreetly over the back of your sofa when not in use.
4. Introducing autumn scents
Pumpkin-scented candles are one of the great joys of fall, and now is the time to stock up (NGL has been on shelves at HomeGoods and TJ Maxx since mid-July). Choose a few scents that will bring you joy over the next few months and scatter them around your apartment, then put your unused summer candles in a storage box. See you next year, Peach and Lemon! Hello, this is Vanilla Spice.

5. Grab the candlestick
In this connection, candlesticks are indispensable in the autumn interior. Pick up some brass beauties that can really be displayed anywhere. Looks attractive on your kitchen table, coffee table, or bar cart.—a A proper pair of candlesticks can do no wrong. To finish off the look, pick up some taper candles in pretty fall colors, like soft orange or rich burgundy.
6. Replace the cushion cover
Affordable pillowcases make it easy to change up your living room décor at any time. At the beginning of fall, I love incorporating neutral hues. Velvets, moody greens, or rusty hues are likely to appear later in the season. Don't feel guilty about holding onto pillowcases of any kind. Pillowcases can be folded up into small pieces and placed in the trash can under the bed to keep them out of sight.
7. Say hello to landscape prints
Landscape prints are very classic and include lots of beautiful shades that are perfect for fall interiors. I love scouring local flea markets and vintage shops for the perfect painting, but you can find amazing downloadable prints online that look like real canvas. Print a few, place them in an ornate gold frame, and prop them up on your mantel, desk, or nightstand.
