JOLIET — Inside the Lincoln School building on Joliet's east side, Will County Regional Superintendent Lisa Capparelli Ruff held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday afternoon to announce her agency's Lincoln Kitchen Project.
Capparelli-Ruff also spoke with Will County State's Attorney Jim Glasgow, who helped build a new kitchen for students attending Lincoln School, Joliet businessman John Bayes of Bayes Investment Corporation, and ExxonMobil's Pete. A special award was presented to Mr. Collarelli.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the official opening of the Lincoln Kitchen Project, which is the culmination of a collaborative effort and shared vision,” said District Superintendent Capparelli Ruff. “This milestone underscores our commitment to providing a safe and enriching environment in which all students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Wednesday's ribbon cutting drew local dignitaries, community leaders, educators and students. Other elected officials in attendance included Sen. Rachel Ventura, Judy O'Gara-Will County Commission Chairwoman, and State Rep. Anthony DeLuca.
As the Lincoln Kitchen Project opens its doors, the Lincoln Area Safe Schools Program reaffirms its commitment to fostering an environment where all students can thrive and succeed. According to the district superintendent, this exciting venture marks the beginning of a new era of educational excellence rooted in collaboration, innovation and the constant pursuit of student success.
