A home decor store in Nazareth is closing permanently, just weeks after opening a second location in downtown Easton.
However, some residents of the borough apparently are not satisfied with this.
Abode Home Deco, 27 E. Belvidere St. in downtown Nazareth, will close permanently on June 25 at 4 p.m., husband-and-wife owners Brian and Krista Lichtenberger recently announced. The announcement was made on the store's Facebook page. The couple, who live in Bushkill Township, opened the store in 2021.
The company held a soft opening on June 3 at its second location at 131 N. Third St. in Easton.
“A wise friend once told me, 'Don't go to a buffet when your plate is full,'” the post reads. We hope you will continue to come see us and follow us on our journey. ”
On Tuesday, the Lichtenbergers again took to Facebook to urge guests to be kind, noting that they have received some backlash since announcing the closure. The post reads:
“Last weekend, my team and I received a lot of harsh words regarding leaving Nazareth. We get it, you're upset. So are we. We have nothing for Nazareth. I don't want to, but I want Nazareth to grow and be successful for everyone. Believe me, if we can find a way to do it all, we will. We love the locals and hope they will continue to come to Easton.”
Krista Lichtenberger had previously planned to juggle both locations, but she told lehighvalleylive.com Wednesday afternoon that her side hustle had become too much work. She is a full-time registered nurse as well as a mother of three children.
“We want to find balance, but the only option was to have one space,” Krista Lichtenberger said. “The decision to close Nazareth was made because Easton offers more space to store more items.”
Price tags on products sold at Nazaré are currently discounted by up to 50%. The owner also sells display furniture and fixtures.
The Hive, a local vendor marketplace, is scheduled to have its grand opening July 29 in the former Abode Home Decor space in Nazareth, Bangor owner Makayla Lee Adams told lehighvalleylive.com. Ta.
Abode Home Decor's new location in Easton is a nearly 1,000-square-foot space that previously housed Twice Chic Boutique. The store is known for its “rustic yet modern” atmosphere.
We also sell live ornamental plants, pet supplies, gifts, and seasonal interior decorations. Handcrafted items such as a reclaimed barn wood sign with a charming and comical quote from Wisconsin, custom barn wood furniture and soy-burning candles from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, soy wax melts from New York, and other reclaimed wood. there is. Originally from Kentucky.
Lichtenberger envisions opening the Easton store for private and community events. There will also be monthly do-it-yourself workshops in the evenings, which have already been popular in Nazareth. Some include making holiday wreaths and decorating cupcakes.
Krista Lichtenberger also hopes to one day expand her business to include interior design services and home-based consulting, such as home organization services. She's already offering decorating advice in-store.
