Jacksonville, Florida – A customer contacts News4JAX I-TEAM with concerns about a local outdoor kitchen company.
The Attorney General's Office confirmed it has received 19 complaints related to Premier Outdoor USA. We also learned that there are active investigations into consumer protection.
Complaints range from poor customer service to inadequate equipment to incomplete kitchens.
“I paid $18,000 for this kitchen. Is this an $18,000 kitchen product? I don't think so,” said John Tharp.
He has expressed his dissatisfaction with a local outdoor kitchen company called Premier Outdoor USA.
“We were driving by the store and looking for an outdoor kitchen. It looked nice from the front, so we went inside and it was very clean inside,” Sielp said.
“So I thought, oh, this is a legit and great company. Looks really good. I stupidly didn't look at the reviews.”
John Sheep said after contracting with the company in December, he waited another three months for his custom kitchen to be delivered. He filed a complaint soon after giving birth.
“I made a list of problems with the kitchen: the border, the Chinese Wonderboard, the Chinese sink. That double burner is not a brand name,” Sheep said.
There are a few things he would like to see fixed. Outdoor refrigerator doesn't fit properly and decorations are missing. And the outdoor stove isn't the brand name he signed up for, and the parts don't match.
“My car was delivered on March 27th. I haven't heard from him or texted him back since then. My emails weren't returned. His emails were taunting me for asking for help fixing the kitchen. It's like there is,” Sheep said.
An email from company owner Sean Jackrell said: Have a great day, John. ”
After many attempts to get to work, today we stopped at one on Phillips Highway. We asked to be contacted by the owner or manager and left a business card. The company has updated its signage and now operates under the name “Outdoor Dream Company.”
The owner contacted News4JAX and said his company has no notable issues with customers. He mentioned to us his position with the Better Business Bureau.
His company has a 2.5 star B rating. He has more than 10 1-star reviews and several 5-star reviews posted within the last month.
Sean Jackrell provided News4JAX with documentation proving the completion of service for John's Outdoor Kitchen. He has one caveat: “The LED lights were not delivered and installed as promised.”
“I was also planning to install LED lighting around the kitchen. And they just refused to come back and refused to even respond to me about it. And the LED lights were an incentive for me to pay early. ” Sierp said.
“I said, 'Please, come back and give me the stainless steel and I won't do anything you don't want me to do.' I'm not going to be on the news. I'm going to give you a bad review. ”And here we are. ”
Customers are gathering information for a class action lawsuit against Premier Outdoor USA and other related companies.
