Nora is used to winning. And St. Her Boniface's restaurant has done it again, garnering the most votes at last week's Winnipeg Her Nightlife & Lifestyle His Awards. I haven't been to 300 Tache Ave. yet (it's on my list), but I recently had chef Emily Butcher on my radio show. We asked her about the excitement her food is causing in her hometown. Emily says it's all about bringing fun to her table while having a nostalgic aspect of what she grew up eating. Her recommendations include Reuben dumplings, gunpowder-roasted carrots and seared scallops, and lo bak go, which is based on her family's recipe. Congratulations to Emily and the rest of her Nola! You've built quite a reputation in just a few years! I can't wait to visit your restaurant and try this dish everyone is talking about.

plastic pollution
Coca-Cola, Pepsi and several other beverage companies are contributing to the world's plastic crisis, according to a new study. Coke alone accounts for 11% of branded plastic waste. Researchers analyzed data from his study of 1,500 cats in 84 countries. Volunteers inspected more than 1.8 million pieces of plastic.

marathon wine tasting
Tom Gilbey just drank 25 glasses of wine while running the London Marathon. He did a blind tasting and tried to guess its origin and vintage. Incredibly, he got seven of his answers correct, four of his answers incorrect, and the rest of his wines partially correct. Including a wine break, he completed the marathon in 4 hours and 41 minutes.
naked food delivery
DoorDasher took to Reddit to complain about a recent food delivery. “I received a message from a customer saying, 'Just to be clear, I'm a nudist and I'm going to answer the door naked.'” I said, “Okay, I'll cancel then.” I answered. However, @acrispygal99 said she could not cancel the order without impacting the completion rate, so she proceeded with the cancellation. What I don't understand here is, if you're a nudist, why don't you leave food at the door?
