Hey everyone, this is Em, one of TME's resident foodies. of The best kitchen utensils. A tried-and-true staple that I've had in my kitchen for years. Every inch of countertop or drawer space has value.
I'm more of a minimalist when it comes to the kitchen (very few people can perform a single task). So trust me when I say you'll be reaching for these tools again and again. I'm not trying to steer you wrong in this area.
The best kitchen gadgets to make cooking easier (also perfect as gifts)
From the cast iron pot that never leaves our stove (oh my goodness, it's only $15 now!) to the rice cooker that we see in action every day (this video also includes a few hugs), and even a garlic mincer that I've been using for over 20 years, a can opener for kids that's a total game changer. These kitchen essentials are a great addition to any kitchen. It also makes a thoughtful gift or Christmas stuffer for your gourmet friends and family.
1) Egg Perfect Egg Timer
this small egg perfect egg timer very convenient. When you put it in a pot with eggs, the color changes and you can tell whether the eggs are cooked (soft, medium, or hard). If, like me, you forget to set the timer when the water boils, or if you're heading to higher altitudes where the water boils at a different rate (yes, I've traveled with this little device) Very convenient. It's also great for families like ours where someone prefers the softness of their eggs. Just remove the eggs when they reach your desired consistency. There is originality in simplicity.
2) Garlic twist
Guys, please don't use a garlic press that's more complicated than this. Simplicity wins here, and that's why you can't beat garlic twists. Use a garlic twister to crush a few cloves, peel them and put them in (you can do 4-6 at a time depending on size), twist and chop them (of course), and beat them all out with a fork. . Rinse (or toss in the dishwasher). It's ready. There are no small holes to clean. And the quality is great. As mentioned above, I had my own over 20 years And it's still going strong. If you enjoy cooking with fresh garlic Jeezgift yourself this extremely useful device.

I've shared my love for this Kuhn Rikon Auto Safety LidLifter/Can Opener before, and I'm clearly not alone in that obsession. people i love you This little one is very sturdy for the same reasons as me, there are no sharp edges on either side of the can and you can cut the lid cleanly. or The lid is easy for kids to get the hang of and does its job really well. I have yet to encounter a can that cannot be opened, such as a can with a dented edge or a pull-top can with a malfunctioning pull-top. (Spam, I'm looking at you.) Cadillac of can openers.
5) Lodge 8 inch cast iron pan
We have a lot of very fancy and very expensive cast iron in our kitchen, but this little Lodge cast iron pot is the only one that is reserved above the stove. I use it multiple times a day: when making eggs, when making the girls' quesadillas and grilled cheese, when warming up corn tortillas, when reheating some leftovers, when making crepes (crepe pan You don't need it, just a small piece of bread that you can quickly turn and cover (with butter)—anything will do. Of course, larger sizes are available, but we use the 8-inch size more often than you might expect. Also, the small size makes it super easy to keep well seasoned for a non-stick finish.
6) Salt & Pepper Bottle Grinder
These salt and pepper bottle grinders were on my list for two years before I bought them for myself. I'm really glad I purchased it. It looks like a stone tool, perfectly grinds both salt and pepper (using an adjustable ceramic grinding mechanism), and is pretty enough to keep on your table. And best of all, thanks to their design, you can flip them to grind spices. When you sit on the table, the mechanism is at the top (read: do not have Salt and pepper silt splatters all over tables and counters). Just perfect. And they come in lots of cute colors to suit any home.
