The 2024 Chita Rivera Award nominations were announced today by Tony Award winner and dance icon Bebe Neuwirth on ABC News' “GMA3: What You Need to Know.” In keeping with the mission of the Chita Rivera Awards, nominees considered shows and films that will be released in the 2023-2024 theater season.
The 2024 Chita Rivera Award will be presented on May 20 at 7:30 p.m. at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts and will be presented by New York City Dance Alliance Foundation Founder and Executive -Director Joe Lanteri will co-produce with Patricia. Watt.

Nominations for works under consideration this season are determined by a designated nominations committee. There are separate nominating committees for Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Film. Broadway also has an awards committee that determines the final nominations received from Broadway's Nominating Committee.
All proceeds from the Chita Rivera Award will benefit the New York City Dance Alliance Foundation Scholarship Program. The NYCDA Foundation is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) dedicated to expanding awareness of the performing arts while advocating for high standards of education and excellence in dance.
This year, all funds and proceeds will support the creation of the new Chita Rivera Training Scholarship.
