Here are four new Dallas restaurants opening this week.
Nikki Greek Bistro & Lounge
5757 W. Lovers Lane, Suite 101
This new Greek restaurant from the owners of The Ivy Tavern is set to debut on April 30th. Incorporating family recipes, owners Lisa Georgia and Tom Georgiaris brought on chef Blake Andres to execute the couple's vision. The menu includes seasonal dishes such as pefti kleatopita (falling meat pie), avgolemono soup, a Georgalis family recipe, moussaka, and saffron scallops. Fresh cocktails include the Baklava Espresso Martini, Cucumber Aloe Spritz, and Limoncello Cheesecake Martini.
Georgalis was inspired by “the energy of island bistros, a modern interpretation of old Greek cuisine, utilizing all the forgotten herbs, oils and cheeses that are special to Greece.” Tom also notes that people eat and drink “liquidally” in Greece. This means guests can enjoy pre-dinner drinks on the patio or lounge, have dinner in the dining room, and then enjoy cocktails and live music in the lounge area until late into the night.
Culpepper Cattle Company
3309 Elm Street
Opening May 1 in the Continental Gin Building in Deep Ellum, this East Texas-inspired restaurant is from UNCO Hospitality Group. This will be his second location at Culpepper, the iconic Rockwall restaurant that was rescued by the owners of HG Sply Co. and his Leela's Wine Bar and renovated in 2023. The menu, created in collaboration with consulting chef girlfriend Danielle McPherson, includes Tex-Mex, prime steaks, burgers and seafood. There will be a slew of margaritas, including the signature Muchacho Grande, watermelon-infused tequila and mezcal-based Slightly Sandia, and Purple Passion (hibiscus-infused tequila), as well as martinis, a smoky Old Fashioned, and a Cowboy His Cosmo.
The space features a “classic design featuring rich green Naugahyde, dark walnut highlighting exposed brick, original wood beams, and wood floors.” The large patio will feature white stucco booths and the Muchacho Grande outdoor bar with yellow and green tiles.
Curio Kitchen + Market
129 Historic Town Square, Lancaster
Late last year, we spoke with former Abacus chef Chris Patrick and his wife Laura Patrick. They were working on their latest venture: a take-home market with a delivery element, specialty items and bottles of fine wine. Starting this week (11 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday), Curio will enter a soft opening phase in downtown Lancaster. As the couple prepares for their grand opening, they will be offering a limited lunch menu of grab-and-go salads and sandwiches. We currently have sandwiches like Turkey Bacon Club, Muffuletta, 44 Farm Pastrami, and Chicken Pesto. Salads include grilled chicken Caesar, field greens, and turkey bacon cobs.
Radici wood grill
12990 Bee Street, Farmers Branch
As far as new restaurants in Dallas go, this is a big one, so here's a reminder that chef Tiffany Dery announced the opening date for her new Italian restaurant in Farmers Branch last week. Radici opens on Wednesday, May 1st.
