Freightliner may not currently produce as many impressive models as Peterbilt, but its trucks are still extremely popular and are intentionally designed to provide maximum fuel efficiency. I am. The Cascadia in particular is a very aerodynamic model thanks to its Aero package.
These new Cascadias look very impressive on paper. Not only does it have good overall fuel economy, but it also has a comfortable interior with plenty of telematics and automatic safety systems to improve uptime. Of course, if you don't always haul long distances, fuel economy may not be your biggest concern, but can you really sacrifice that kind of peace of mind?
Anyway, what we're talking about here is a 2023 Freightliner Cascadia that has been converted into a luxury motorhome. His Detroit DD16 engine has 7,832 miles on it and is priced at over $439,950. That's about the same amount you'd spend on a brand new Rolls-Royce Specter (and if you can haggle, you might even be able to buy a new Phantom).
Key features of the high-roof mid-entry sleeper section include a 150-gallon freshwater tank, a 75-gallon holding tank, and eight tanks.kW Generator, Aqua Hot System, Awning, 200W Solar Panel. Meanwhile, inside, you'll find a fully equipped kitchen with a convertible booth dinette, 2-burner induction cooktop, French door refrigerator with ice maker, sink, oven, sofa sleeper, and mini-king size master bedroom. Includes a private bathroom with shower and a TV.
The cockpit section includes two captain's chairs, air conditioning, satnav, and a digital gauge cluster.
In terms of performance, the aforementioned Detroit DD16 engine is mated to a 12-speed automatic gearbox and produces 500-600 horsepower and up to 2,050 pound-feet of torque.

It's Detroit's most powerful inline-six truck engine, and Freightliner says it's how this camper is built for “tough work, heavy-lift transportation, and the world's biggest jobs.” Considering the current situation, it should be possible to proceed without any problems. It's also where “power and performance collide,” all in a durable and reliable package. This is a true workhorse.
Are there better options?
That's a fair question. Sure, you can buy a camper for less (even a luxury car), but if you want a semi-truck-based product, well, it's not cheap. Just recently, we showed you a custom 2023 Peterbilt 389 that features a huge sleeping section with a kitchen, bedroom, shower, and more.
That particular vehicle was priced at $409,900, and the sleeper section was almost as great. However, from a logistics standpoint, the Freightliner camper was arguably a little better put together, whereas the Peterbilt camper was more bespoke.
