If you've ever wanted to sample signature dishes from celebrity chefs Emeril Lagasse and Lorena Garcia, Fort Lauderdale chef Paula DaSilva can make it happen.
DaSilva is bringing back its popular summer cooking series 'Paula's Food Diary' to Barloc Coast Seafair & Spirits. June's menu features are based on Lagasse's favorite recipes, followed by Garcia's dishes in July. (Stay tuned: Two more recipes from her celebrity chefs will be added to the series (names TBA).
This is the second annual edition of Paula's Food Diary at Burrock Coast, the waterfront restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton in Fort Lauderdale, where DaSilva is director of food and beverage. Of course, she's also an alum of Gordon Ramsay's reality cooking competition show Hell's Kitchen.
The premise of Paula's Food Diary: Each month, diners on the Burrock Coast will have the opportunity to enjoy menu items prepared by the restaurant's acclaimed staff to the exacting specifications of an original recipe from one of DaSilva's famous friends.
DaSilva said in a statement that the series “offers guests a unique opportunity to experience exceptional cuisine from top chefs from around the country.” …This series not only highlights great talent, but also brings a diverse and dynamic flavor to the heart of Fort Lauderdale. ”

Chef Emeril Lagasse's Seared Scallops, available from June 1st to June 30th: The pride of New Orleans, renowned restaurateur, television personality, and author, Lagasse's scallops are served over a truffled white bean puree and finished with a rich wild mushroom sauce. Price: $52+.
Chef Lorena Garcia's Asado Negro Arepas, July 1-31: From Caracas, Venezuela, one of the country's most famous chefs thanks to his work on Bravo and the Food Network, this recipe features Wagyu short ribs with handmade anise and piloncillo arepitas and garnished with pico has been published. De gallo, cotija cheese, micro coriander. Prices are $25 and up.
