TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Green Country organizations are deploying resources to help the Claremore community after a devastating tornado destroyed much of what the city once knew.
Liasos deployed a “community kitchen” to help the Claremore community after the devastating tornado.
On Tuesday, people affected by the storm can line up at Reasers on Will Rogers Boulevard in Claremore to receive a free hot breakfast.
The menu includes breakfast patty sausages, biscuits, pastries and fruit, while supplies last.
They have enough on hand to feed 700 people and hope that will be enough, but on Sunday they fed more than 1,000 people.
Reasor's team will be serving the local community through a drive-thru in the store's parking lot.
In addition to a free hot breakfast, ice and water will also be distributed while supplies last.
There are also some updates the community should be aware of:
About 65% of power has been restored in the Claremore area.
Power remains out in the worst-hit areas as crews work around the clock to repair the damage.
The city of Claremore and Rogers County will continue their 10pm to 6am curfew through June 1 to allow emergency responders to continue repair and restoration efforts.
As residents and crews work to remove debris, city and county officials are asking residents to place green waste, such as tree branches and brush, in piles no longer than 10 feet long along the side of the road to make them easier to pick up.
Be careful not to let debris get into your gas or water pipes.
There are currently no public disposal sites available, but plans are being developed.
Refuse collection routes will continue to operate as normal but will not run in hard-hit areas.
For your safety, do not drive around emergency barriers or emergency vehicles.
