SAN DIEGO — Human and pet food company The Honest Kitchen announced June 4 that it has appointed CPG industry veteran Kirk Jensen as chief operating officer, effective immediately. The company said Jensen's appointment underscores the company's dedication to driving innovation and excellence, and that under his leadership, the company will continue its growth trajectory.
Jensen joins the company after serving in leadership positions at CPG companies including Sovos Brands, Snyder's Lance and Frito Lay.
“We are excited to welcome Kirk to our leadership team as our new Chief Operating Officer,” said Will Rissman, CEO of The Honest Kitchen. “Kirk's deep understanding of the supply chain and proven ability to drive profitable growth and operational efficiencies will play a key role in advancing our company's mission to provide the healthiest, most nutritious food possible for pets.”
Prior to joining The Honest Kitchen, Kirk served as Chief Operating Officer of Sovos Brands, where he grew the brand's profitability, strengthened Sovos' category leadership position and was instrumental in the company's successful IPO and ultimate acquisition by Campbell's.

“I am honored to join The Honest Kitchen, a company that shares my passion for growth through innovation, quality and sustainability,” said Jensen. “I look forward to leveraging my experience to drive operational excellence and contribute to The Honest Kitchen's continued success as a leading provider of human-grade pet nutrition.”
