New England Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon's first restaurant, NINE Kitchen & Lounge, is set to open in Dallas in early May 2024.
The Southern fusion concept restaurant is located at 2211 N. Houston St. in Victory Park, in the building that until 2019 housed Hard Rock Cafe.
The name “NINE” stands for niche community, innovative menu, nightlife experience and elevated entertainment, the company explained in a press release earlier this year.
NINE's concept is to serve traditional Southern flavors in an innovative and elegant way.
The restaurant has an outdoor patio and also houses a speakeasy that offers live entertainment and other events.
The menu includes appetizers such as Fried Green Tomatoes with Whipped Remoulade, quick dishes such as Matte Chopped Cheese with oxtail, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, Nain hot sauce and white sauce, and main dishes such as New Zealand Lamb Jerky with beef demi-glace, charred scallion puree and Meyer lemon gel or Cowboy Steak, a bone-in cowboy rib eye with cowboy butter. Vegan options are also available.
Judon, a New England Patriots linebacker and four-time Pro Bowl selection, decided to start a business in the D-FW area after living in Colleyville for three years.
NINE was originally scheduled to open in mid-March 2024 but has been delayed by a few weeks to allow for finishing touches, a spokesperson said.
