To promote the song and the album, Abrams posted two videos with Swift to his Instagram page: In the first, the pair can be seen working late into the night on “Us,” with Abrams sitting at the piano and Swift standing next to her, singing and working out the lyrics.
The second video shows their writing session being interrupted by a fire in Swift's kitchen at her TriBeCa apartment.
The video (which appears to have been filmed on Abrams' phone) begins with Abrams narrating as he describes something burning on a counter. According to TMZ, Abrams has spoken out about fires before, but this is the first time the video has been posted. The blaze appears to have been started by a burning candle that fell over.
Swift is seen grabbing a fire extinguisher and asking Abrams what to do.
“I think we're going to die,” Swift jokes. “No we're not,” Abrams replies, wisely pointing out that you shouldn't put out a kitchen fire with water. She sprayed the fire extinguisher, put out the fire, and then she stood there for a moment, stunned, while Abrams laughed in relief.
