CHICAGO — After six years in business, York Test Kitchen in Bucktown has closed.
Specializing in menu items not offered at other York restaurants, the location opened in 2018 in the 1700 block of North Milwaukee.
The company currently operates eight restaurants in the area, six of which are in the city, and the Wicker Park location at 1800 West Division will serve popular test kitchen dishes, the company said.
There was a notice posted on the door that read:
“Dear customers,
After much consideration, we have decided to close Yolk Test Kitchen. Our last day of business will be June 23, 2024.
From the start, York Test Kitchen has been an exciting journey of culinary exploration and community collaboration, and over the years, you, our valued customers, have played a key role in shaping our innovative menu through your invaluable feedback and adventurous tastes.
We're incredibly proud of what we've accomplished together. From unique breakfast creations to experimental coffee creations, every item on our menu is a testament to our shared passion for food. Your support and enthusiasm fuels our creativity and drives us to continually push the boundaries of brunch food.
“We'd like to extend a huge thank you to our incredible staff who helped make our vision a reality. Their talent and dedication are the cornerstone of our success, and we're so grateful for their contributions that we've offered them all positions at York Chicago's other locations.”
As we prepare to close this chapter, our coffee creations and most popular Test Kitchen dishes will live on at Yolk – Wicker Park. Please join us in celebrating the traditions of the Yolk Test Kitchen over the coming weeks.
Thank you for joining us on our journey and we look forward to seeing you at our other York locations in Chicagoland.
Thank you very much.
York Test Kitchen Staff“
