The kitchen seems to be one area of the home that smart lighting brands tend to overlook, and Cync is looking to change that by giving homeowners an easy way to beautify their kitchens with smart under-cabinet lighting fixtures.
This is a series of LED lights that can be installed under cabinets to provide vibrant accent lighting, and they're slim at just about an inch thick, so you can place them wherever you have the space.
They come in four sizes: 12-, 18-, and 24-inch edgelight bars, which mount directly around cabinets and furniture, but there's also a fourth option, a 3-inch circular puck light.
Each device works similarly and can output up to 16 million RGB colors. The white light output reaches a color temperature of up to 7,000 Kelvin for optimal brightness. Of course, you can always reduce the white light intensity to a warmer color.
Cync's parent company, GE Lighting, has an interactive website where you can preview the different colors that will come out of its under-cabinet fixtures, seeing just how bright the Reveal HD Plus's whites will be and what shades of red, blue, and green will look like.
Specifications and Features
Installing the fixtures is a breeze, as they come with “fixing screws for easy DIY installation.” Additionally, every light comes with a 12-inch cable, allowing users to connect up to 10 fixtures together to light up an entire kitchen. This includes both edgelight bars and pucks.
Every Cync device comes with its own power cable, and each cable provides up to 500 watts of power to the entire chain, so you'll never have to worry about running out of outlets.
The company says that the four lights support both Bluetooth and 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi, and through these connections users can issue commands via the official Cync app, no hub required.
However, if you want to issue voice commands via the Matter standard, you'll need to buy a smart home hub that works with Alexa or Google Assistant. The Samsung SmartThings and Apple Home apps are also compatible.
Other notable features include the ability to create schedules for lighting and outdoor control via the Cync app.
The 12-inch under-cabinet fixture bars are available from $50.73 on Amazon. The pack is out of stock on the platform, but you can buy it on Lowe's website for $84.98.
