A family has paid tribute to an 89-year-old “wonderful mother and grandmother” after she died in a three-vehicle accident.
Jean Kitchen died from injuries sustained after being hit on the A5104 at Bryn Eglwys, near Corwen, Denbighshire.
The three vehicles involved in the accident were a grey Peugeot 107, a silver Peugeot 206 and a black Jaguar X-Type.
Her family said she was “larger than life” and a “one in a million presence.”
Emergency services, including air ambulance, were called to the crash scene on June 23rd.
Mrs Kitchen, from the Bryn Egluis area, died from her injuries the following day.
Her family said she left a “great void that will never be filled.”
“To summarise Jean Kitchen’s life and story in a few short paragraphs is as difficult as it could easily be to write a book.
“In her 40s she went into work as a nurse, midwife and public health nurse, which she absolutely loved and was extremely passionate about helping others all her life,” her family said.
But they said her “greatest achievement in life was marrying the love of her life, Jim Kitchen, who passed away in 2015.”
“Their long life was filled with adventures all over the world. They loved to travel and left their mark wherever they went.”
North Wales Police are continuing to investigate the accident and are appealing for any information to come forward.
