Hutchinson Public Library Adult education tutors needed. Tutors will help adult clients learn basic math, basic reading and writing, GED preparation, improving conversation skills, and more. Materials will be provided and meetings will take place in the library's conference room. Volunteers must be 22 years of age or older and have graduated from high school. Volunteers are needed for one-hour sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 10am to noon or 1pm to 5pm. (Times are flexible depending on volunteer schedules.) Volunteers are also needed on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5pm to 6pm.
A Vision of Hope We are seeking individuals willing to serve a two-year term on the Civilian Review Board. Volunteers will be advocates for children referred to the court through child protection cases. Volunteers will be required to review two cases once a month. Reviewers will hear from the cases and the parties in the cases and make recommendations to the court based on the best interests of the children. Volunteers must be 22 years of age or older, complete 12 hours of training, and pass KBI and DCF background checks.
Hutchinson Regional Medical Center Auxiliary We are looking for a volunteer to help in the ICU waiting area, supervising family visitor check-ins and meeting with family members as needed. This position is busy at times. Volunteers are available Monday through Friday from 8am to noon or noon to 4pm. Volunteer shift times can be negotiated as needed and volunteers can work one or more shifts per week. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, personable and professional in appearance, up to date on COVID and flu vaccinations, and willing to join the HRMC Auxiliary.
Soup Kitchen is looking for volunteers to come to the soup kitchen and bring clothing donations from the outdoor donation box to the soup kitchen clothing bank. Volunteers can do this once a day, to the best of their ability. If you can only do it a few times a week, other volunteers can cover other days of the week. Volunteers need to be able to lift the clothes, bring them inside, sort them, and hang them up.
Stage 9 “Androcles and the Lion” will be performed from August 1st to 4th. We are looking for volunteers to help paint the set during rehearsals. We prefer volunteers who have previous painting experience, can paint large pieces, and can paint shadows and highlights.
