CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — Chesterfield County teachers have been using YouTube to keep their learning going all summer.
Chef Sarah Jurewicz's home is surrounded by a beautiful backyard garden filled with fresh organic fruits and vegetables.
The former Chesterfield Teacher of the Year has been using her time off to continue connecting with her students.
That's where a garden and a camera come in handy.
“I always [my students] “It's about cooking at home, especially with your family. That's the tagline for every YouTube video we make,” Jurewicz said.
Jurewicz documents recipes, cooking tips and more on her YouTube channel.

It's something she started as a way to connect with her students through virtual learning during the pandemic.
Now students and their families tune in to the channel to learn about healthy, delicious cooking all year round.
“I tell everybody: I have the best job in the world, and it's not going to stop,” she said.
While her husband is behind the camera, she has transformed her home kitchen into a classroom, and she frequently posts recipes on YouTube, Facebook, and more.
“We have cooking parties where all their friends come over to the house and we bake chocolate chip cookies together,” she says. “They watch me while I cook. It's kind of a fun, interactive tech moment that we all have together.”
