Chef Nancy Fuller is known for her incredible palate, and that palate extends to her real estate business.
Fuller, star of Food Network's “Farmhouse Rules,” films the hit show in the kitchen of her home, a fully restored pre-Revolutionary Dutch farmhouse built in 1766.
Fuller told Gimi that he loved his Dutch Colonial home and loved skiing nearby, but he no longer skis and it was time to move somewhere warmer.
The Hudson Valley mansion, which sits on 143 acres, is currently on the market for $3.99 million, down from its 2020 asking price of $5.9 million.
Fuller and her husband, David Ginsburg, purchased the home in the early 2000s for $405,500. The couple are co-owners of the food delivery service Ginsburg's Foods. Fuller has also served as a judge on Food Network's popular series Holiday Baking Championship and Spring Baking Championship. Additionally, she is the author of Farmhouse Rules: Simple, Seasonal Meals for the Whole Family, the mother of six children, and the grandmother of 13 grandchildren.
“Home is made of memories. This home has been a farm for over two centuries,” Fuller told Gimme Shelter. “What I love most about this home is the deep history and passion that seeps in with each passing year as I become another steward of this historic property. Our home is warm, cozy, and has served our extended family well over the years. The first child to swing in the tree swing is still swinging 18 years later, and the lure of the creek draws both toddlers and now college students every time they visit.”
Known as Locust Dale Farm, this stunning property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The 6,485-square-foot home has five bedrooms and is “just minutes” from the heart of Claverack and downtown Hudson.
The home itself features cathedral ceilings, hardwood floors, and four wood-burning fireplaces, including a Dutch-style grateless fireplace with the original iron hearth and a period cooking hearth with a beehive oven that can take up to four hours to heat up.
The home also features a recent extension with post and beam building and a modern “dream” chef's kitchen with a hidden refrigerator drawer to save space. There is a living room, media room and large bedroom suite. The outbuildings have all been restored, including the brick summer kitchen, 1860 barn, stone well and icehouse. And of course, a reconstructed traditional Dutch barn and generator.
The property borders Claverack Creek, is bisected by Loomis Creek and offers views of the Catskill Mountains.
