Kitchen Direction
According to Vastu Shastra, for a kitchen to be filled with positive vibes, it should have a balance of earth, sky, air, fire and water elements. According to Vastu Shastra, Agni, the god of fire, predominates in the southeast direction of the house, so the ideal placement for a kitchen is in the southeast direction of the house. If that is not possible for some reason, the northwest direction is fine too. However, a kitchen should not be constructed in the north, northeast or southwest direction of the house, as this will drastically damage the relationships between family members. As all objects in the kitchen represent fire, home appliances like gas stove, cylinders, microwave oven, toaster etc. should be placed in the southeast portion of the kitchen.
