Two popular Michigan-based restaurant chains are teaming up.
Southfield-based Big Boy and Livonia-based Olga's Kitchen have announced a new partnership that will see Olga's Kitchen set up open guest kitchens in existing Big Boy restaurants.
The deal will allow customers to order Olga's Kitchen's popular items, including Olga Sandwiches and Snackers, from three Michigan cities.
“Olga's Kitchen has been a Michigan favorite for more than 50 years, and we're partnering with another iconic Michigan brand to bring our beloved cuisine to a new area of the state,” said Ryan Jones, vice president of operations for Olga's Kitchen. “With Big Boy's track record of delighting customers in Midland, Muskegon and Battle Creek, we're confident they're the perfect partner to bring customers in these markets the Mediterranean flavors our fans crave, made from the same fresh ingredients we use in our other locations.”
The guest kitchens are located at Big Boy restaurants at 1513 S. Saginaw Rd. in Midland, 1720 E. Sternberg Rd. in Muskegon and 2183 W. Columbia Ave. in Battle Creek.
Starting July 24, customers can visit order.olgas.com to place takeout or delivery orders from the new locations, or for delivery through services like Doordash.
Founded in 1970 by Olga Loizon, the daughter of Greek immigrants, Olga's Kitchen built a successful business around her famous bread recipe that was once a chain with locations throughout Michigan shopping malls, but in recent years has pivoted to partnering with other local brands, including Hell Fire Detroit Hot Sauce and Avalon International Bread.
Last year, Ann Arbor's massive Michigan Stadium announced it would add Olga's Kitchen merchandise for the 2023-2024 season.
Loizon passed away in 2019 at the age of 92.
