Just a few months ago, I moved from an apartment with a small, cluttered kitchen to a place that's much larger and has plenty of cooking space. My new kitchen has been upgraded in just about every way, except for the lighting.
I'd tried installing LED lights under the counter in my previous kitchen, but they always seemed too bright, so I'd pretty much given up on living with the poor lighting. But after seeing a few viral TikTok videos detailing the rationale for installing rechargeable cordless lamps on my kitchen counters, I immediately added the One Fire Vintage Flower Kitchen Lamp to my Amazon cart, especially since it's currently 32% off. I've had it for over three months now, and I can confidently say it was the best $25 I spent during my move.
Vintage Flower Kitchen Lamp
At just under 12 inches tall, the One Fire Vintage Flower Kitchen Lamp fits under standard cabinets. It has three light settings: warm yellow, natural, and crisp white. With a light touch, you can turn it on, choose your preferred light setting, or turn it off. All three lighting options can be dimmed by dragging your finger along the top of the touch sensor.
The product description says the shade is made of “crystal,” but I think it's probably acrylic plastic. Light shines through easily in all directions, not just downward like an opaque shade lamp. Dust and food/liquid splashes that accumulate while chopping or mixing can be easily wiped off; just wipe with a damp paper towel to remove.
My new kitchen has not one but two low-light areas, so about 12 weeks ago I placed the lamp near the darkest spot and plugged it in to charge overnight. Since then, I've been turning it on to brighten the space while I'm cooking and turning it off when I leave the kitchen. I've only had to charge it a few times; the battery lasts about 3 hours when left on and unplugged.
I prefer a warm or white setting depending on the time of day, and I like to carry this lamp around the kitchen while I'm chopping veggies on the other side of the counter or stirring a pot on the stove. This lamp can be moved anywhere in the house. While I haven't used it outside of the kitchen, I can see it being perfect for a bathroom, laundry room, hallway, office, bedroom, or any other place you need a little more cozy light, especially for $25.
