The Salvation Army announced Tuesday that it would send a mobile kitchen to Southeast Texas to provide meals to residents in areas affected by Beryl.
HOUSTON — As Houston residents recover from the damage caused by Beryl, the Salvation Army has set up a local command post and deployed a mobile kitchen.
The Salvation Army announced Tuesday that its disaster management team will be based at the organization's “disaster warehouse” in Houston, with a second location in Wharton. The Southern Baptist Texas Convention Disaster Response Kitchen will be responsible for all meal preparation and cooking at both locations, according to a media release.
As of Tuesday, the Salvation Army also has mobile kitchens located throughout the region, with four in the city of Houston and additional units in Brazoria, Matagorda and Wharton counties.
