AmazonWhole Foods Market has announced that it will open its second Daily Shop grocery store at 301 West 50th Street in New York City's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood.
The natural and organic food retailer announced in March New Quick Shop Store Format Designed to provide urban customers with a convenient shopping experience with easy access to fresh, high-quality products, the store, named Whole Foods Market Daily Shop, is set to debut this fall at 1175 Third Avenue on New York City's Upper East Side. Progressive Grocer has reached out to the company for an opening date for the Hell's Kitchen store, but no details about the location have been provided at this time. Whole Foods said, The company plans to open a third location in New York City and then expand nationwide.
The innovative small-format stores will range from 7,000 to 14,000 square feet — approximately one-quarter to one-half the size of an average 40,000 square foot store. Whole Foods Market Dairy Shop locations will offer a wide selection of fresh, seasonal produce, prepared meals and essentials. The two newly unveiled New York City stores will also feature Juice & Java, offering coffee, tea, fresh-squeezed juices, smoothies, sandwiches, soups and desserts.
