For many of us, homebrewing beer is something we leave to someone else. Too It's complicated. Seattle-based iGulu is looking to change that with its iGulu S1 automated beer brewer.
Other types “It's easy to make at home!”The S1, a type of food and beverage gadget, works with system-specific premixed ingredient kits. The base ingredients for every kit are malt extract, hop extract, and yeast.
Users simply empty their powdered contents into the S1's tank, along with a gallon (3.8 liters) of filtered water, place the tank in the S1, and hold the RFID tag from the kit's packaging over the machine's reader. That tag relays all the data the S1 needs to know, including fermentation pressure, temperature, and time.
The brewing process begins with the press of a button, and iGulu says it takes about one to two weeks for your beer to be ready, depending on factors such as the type of beer.
Once a gallon of beer teeth When ready, it is chilled to the ideal serving temperature – 37.4°F to 53.6°F (3°C to 12°C) – then the user pours it into a glass (or optional reusable pressurized bottle) using the built-in air pump.
When using the basic setup, beer should be consumed while fresh in a relatively short period of time, however, with optional adapters and third-party CO2 cylinders, beer can be kept fresh for up to 30 days.
A wirelessly connected smartphone iOS/Android app allows users to monitor the brewing process, create their own recipes with manually programmed brewing parameters, and even brew other fermented beverages such as mead, kombucha, cider and white wine.
The S1's removable, washable fermentation tank is made from Tritan, a BPA-free, impact-resistant polymer. What's more, the machine can also accept third-party, one-gallon tanks of ready-to-drink beer, which you can simply chill and pour.
If you're interested, the iGulu S1 is currently the subject of a Kickstarter campaign. If it makes it to production, you can get one for a $299 pledge. The expected retail price is $549.
