Fans of Aldi Special Buy have labelled the current version of the breakfast fakeaway sandwich maker on sale as “completely pointless”, but many feel the £29.99 machine fulfills the dream of being able to bring favourites like McDonald's McMuffin to the dinner table for a fraction of the cost.
In a new video posted to its Aldi Special Buy Instagram page, the chain said: “Others are loving this new Breakfast Muffin Maker, and so are we! Head in store now to get your hands on the perfect fakeaway brekkie! #AisleofAldi #ILoveAldi #kitchengadgets #Breakfastmuffin #BreakfastMuffinMaker.”
It sparked a huge response, with over 2,500 likes and 500 comments, with many people telling their family and friends. However, some people were less impressed. Laura Price said: “It's a great product but at £30 you'll probably only use it twice and then it'll just end up in the cupboard.”
SB258 added: “Sausages need to be pre-cooked anyway, they can just be cooked separately. It makes absolutely no sense.” Martin Dove added: “There is literally no need for this device at all.”
But many people were impressed with the idea of making breakfast muffins at home.
Qiqa NBdwandwa commented: “Shut up I'm gonna get this bastard.” Sparkles 28 said: “Love this.” Harley Holmes simply said: “Stuff in my stomach!” To which Aldi replied: “Unless it's a machine trying to eat you!”
The video showed the £29.99 boxes on Aldi's shelves, before demonstrating how to make the sausage and egg muffins.
