Minna
“I discovered Minna at Scribner's Catskills Lodge, where the brand's gorgeous throw pillows are in all of the common areas and guest rooms. I loved them so much that I ordered three before I left the hotel,” says shopping editor Jessica Cherner. The Hudson, N.Y.-based brand sells all things decor-related, including blankets, wallpaper, vases, and, of course, cushions.

Afloral
First, let me tell you that Afloral is not a home decor brand. As the name suggests, it is an online florist that primarily sells flowers and plants. However, they also carry some beautiful vases for those plants and flowers. All of them are unique and hard to find anywhere else, which is why we've included Afloral on our list.

Crate & Barrel
“When I moved, I was living on a budget that I set for myself, which was tricky because I wanted stylish, comfortable furniture that would last. I chose Crate & Barrel because they always have amazing sales and I was able to get a luxury sofa, media console, and rug without going over budget,” says Cherner. Crate & Barrel feels like the perfect middle ground between maximalist and minimalist, because everything from the furniture to the accessories has personality, yet nothing is too intense.

So, if you're working with a small space and don't want to spend money on something small and uncomfortable, Burrow is a great place to find the perfect sofa.

Joss & Main
Joss & Main is actually owned by Wayfair, but unlike its parent company, it's its own brand and boasts its own style. The palette is soft and pale neutral throughout, and nothing is too elaborate or delicate, so you could call it California-cool. In other words, there's a subtle emphasis on natural backdrops.

Ten Paper
“I love Temper. I really love it. It's a really great brand, and it's basically made for people who aren't good at crafts, but who love to do things themselves,” Cherner explains. “I bought Temper peel-and-stick wallpaper for my last apartment, and I loved the application process so much that I bought a new one. another I used this brand of wallpaper to create an accent wall in my bedroom. Both lasted over 3 years. I ended up having to remove them before moving otherwise I would have left them up forever.”

“Parachute is like your favorite hotel selling luxury sheets at a fraction of the price. Of course, the brand sells other products, but I think what they're most loved for is their bedding,” Cherner says. The brand sells percale, flannel, linen, brushed cotton, and more. Additionally, as of 2024, Parachute also carries mattresses and plush toppers.

Castlereagh
Castlery is reminiscent of Burrow in that it offers a lot of furniture, but most people familiar with the brand knew about its sofas before they knew about its cool coffee tables, bookcases, and cushions. That being said, everything Castlery does is cool, comfortable, and on-trend.

What sets this brand apart is that they offer heirloom pieces with an American flair, but without the heirloom price tag.

“I couldn't find everything at Crate & Barrel. I couldn't find a nightstand I liked. anywhereSo I made a quick stop at Pottery Barn to see if there was anything I liked, and I found these nightstands,” Cherner says. “They were relatively affordable to begin with, and they were on sale, so I bought two without really thinking about it, and haven't regretted it since. Pottery Barn has so many amazing, albeit very traditional, furniture and decor pieces that will suit any style.”

Front Gate
Generally speaking, Frontgate is a luxury furniture brand, but because they sell everything online and have thousands of items that need to sell out, they often have sales. And by discount, we don't just mean 10 percent off here and there; they can save thousands of dollars on luxury items. But what we love most are their accessories, like pillowcases upholstered with Mongolian fur.
