Officials confirmed the leak came from the kitchen, where a previous leak had occurred earlier this week.
ATLANTA — A gas leak in the Fulton County Jail kitchen is causing people to be treated inside the jail for the second time this week, officials confirmed.
Officials confirmed to 11Alive that there was a gas leak and that medical teams were on scene, with workers showing symptoms of carbon monoxide ingestion. It's unclear at this time how much medical attention was required or how many workers or other personnel were affected.

It follows a similar scene Monday night at the troubled prison, where county councillors recently decided to renovate rather than rebuild.
In the previous leak, Atlanta Fire Rescue said crews detected carbon monoxide in the prison's kitchen. Firefighters rushed to the scene, shutting off the gas supply to kitchen equipment and ventilating the room with large fans and the kitchen's exhaust system.
The sheriff's office said all kitchen employees, including contractors and employees, are safe.
“Carbon monoxide is colorless and odorless, however employees experienced symptoms including nausea, which led to the immediate evacuation of the kitchen,” Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labatt said in a news release.
According to the sheriff's office, a private contractor said the leak does not appear to have affected other areas of the jail. The source of the carbon monoxide leak was found to be one of eight kettles in the jail's kitchen.
It is unclear whether Wednesday's leak was caused by the same kettle.
Sheriff Labatt is calling for a complete rebuild of the county jail, which saw multiple deaths last year and reports of deteriorating conditions at the facility led to a U.S. Department of Justice investigation last year, the results of which have yet to be released.
Last December, Fulton County commissioners were presented with visuals of the proposed roughly $2 billion facility. Though there was consensus on the need for a new jail, some commissioners argued the proposed facility was too big and too expensive.
