FAQ
When is Amazon Prime Day 2024?
This year, Amazon is offering tons of discounts for everyone on July 16th and 17th. The sales apply to everything from home appliances, tech, and kitchen supplies, so now's the perfect time to consider upgrading that cookware you haven't used in a while to a shiny new toy. Be wary of brands that are jumping on the frenzy by claiming discounts when they haven't actually lowered the prices.
Are kitchen appliances really cheaper on Prime Day?
That's right. Tons of brands, including big names like Ninja, KitchenAid, Instant Pot, and Keurig, are taking advantage of Prime Day by discounting select appliances. Discounts can reach up to 40%. While some companies may inflate their prices before raising them to make them seem more attractive, many of these sales are for appliances that ZDNET has previously reviewed, so our team has a good idea of the base price and value.
How did you choose the Prime Day deals?
ZDNET only writes about deals we want to buy – devices and products we want, need or recommend. Our experts use established price comparison tools and trackers to determine if a product is actually on sale and how often the price drops, and then look for deals that are at least 20% off (or barely on sale).
We also look at customer reviews to learn what's important to real people who already own and use the products we recommend. Our recommendations may also be based on our own testing, extensive research, and comparison shopping. Our goal is to give you the most accurate advice to help you shop smarter.
Will kitchen appliance sales be different on Prime Day 2?
“The answer is difficult: yes and no. Prime sales, or Lightning sales, are invitation-only and can change on a daily basis,” said Kayla Solino, deputy editor at ZDNET. Checked in June New deals sometimes appear on the site as often as every five minutes. But as always, deals are only valid for the time period determined by Amazon. Lightning sales have a countdown until their expiration date, and other deals' validity periods vary depending on how quickly items sell out (or don't). Many of the deals from day one may remain valid for day two while supplies last, including deals on popular Amazon products like Fire TV, Kindle, Fire tablets, and Echo devices.
