Cattani Kitchen & Catering in Ewing, New Jersey, wins Best Lunch in New Jersey

Ewing (Mercer County) is one of the best places for a great lunch in New Jersey.

Every year, New Jersey Monthly magazine surveys its readers about which restaurants they think are the best in the state.

Results are broken down into categories: North Jersey, Central Jersey, South Jersey and Critics' Choice.

I wait for this list every year and add the winners to my dining list – I love trying new restaurants.

But this year's winner of Best Lunch in Central New Jersey is already one of my favorite places, having also won Best Catering.

It's Cattani Kitchen & Catering in Ewing, and it's absolutely amazing.

If the name “Cattani” sounds familiar, it's because owner and chef Meghan Cattani has been a very popular and successful caterer in the area for many years.

After tasting her amazing cooking at many parties, I was so excited when she decided to open Cattani Kitchen in 2015.

It's described as “a modern take on grandma's kitchen.”

Catani grew up in an Italian household and learned the importance of good food at an early age, spending hours in the kitchen preparing meals alongside her grandmothers and developing a true love for cooking.

Cattani Kitchen is very cozy and cute, you can have lunch or dinner in the restaurant or enjoy a ready made meal or takeaway, the food is excellent.

Everything is homemade, and it's obvious. It's some of the best food I've ever had – homemade soups, salads (the sangria salad is my favorite), sandwiches (I love all the paninis), fresh pasta, and so much more.
